"Garrison, Ellen, Kim and Supporting Staff: I wanted to thank all of you for all the hard work, support, and professional service you have provided. You guys are truly the "Dream Team." I think we've accomplished all the goals (and then some!) that I set out to accomplish. This proceeding would not have been as smooth or concluded as successful without the competent and professional service that your law firm renders." --Tom G.
"I appreciate everything you have done for me during the case. Everyone in the entire firm was a pleasure to speak with."

San Diego Attorneys Helping to Calculate Support Amounts
In California, child support amounts are determined by a set of particularly complicated and nuanced guidelines. The guidelines consider the incomes of both parents, as well as the time each parent spends with the children.
The Law & Mediation Offices of Garrison Klueck has handled both issues of child support and spousal support for well over two decades. In fact, our downtown San Diego law offices use the same software as do California judges. We understand that, while many view the law as making child support a cut-and-dry matter, there are still many points that may be disputed. Divorcing couples often disagree about what income should be included in child support calculations — income like overtime and bonuses. Reaching an agreement may require a judge's ruling.
Child Support Modifications
Usually, a change in income gives rise to need for change in child support. This change, however, does not happen automatically. If a parent loses his or her job or receives a substantial change in income, a motion must be filed.
It is wise for parents to do this as soon as possible — before child support payments become overdue. They can begin by calling the Law & Mediation Offices of Garrison Klueck at 619-202-0033.
Alimony
Spousal support (sometimes called alimony) is awarded in certain situations, usually when one spouse has supported the other throughout the marriage. When deciding if alimony should be awarded in a divorce, courts consider as many as 10 factors that affect the decision, including the ones listed below:
- Length of the marriage
- Whether the party was out of the workforce for any domestic reason
- Age and health of the parties
- Standard of living during the marriage
