Joan Rettinger

Joan Rettinger became an attorney licensed to practice law in California in January 2015. She earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from California Western School of Law. While in school, she earned American Jurisprudence awards in Community Property, Child Welfare Law & Policy, Business Organizations, and Contracts II. In addition, Joan earned an Area of Concentration award in Child, Family and Elder law.

Preceding attendance at law school, Joan graduated San Diego State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, was awarded a Ronald Reagan Scholarship and studied at New College, Oxford University.

Prior to her legal career, Joan was employed by San Diego State University where she served as a Staff Representative on the SDSU Academic Senate representing over 1,700 staff members.

During law school, Joan interned with Klueck & Hoppes as a Certified Student Law Clerk. She was inspired by the passion and dedication of Mr. Klueck and other members of the legal community and started her own practice focused on family law and estate planning. After enjoying the challenge of founding a practice, Joan has rejoined the Klueck & Hoppes team to continue providing zealous representation for clients while focusing her practice on family law.

Community Involvement
Joan was born and raised in San Diego and is dedicated to serving her community. She is a lifetime member of Girl Scouts and volunteers with the San Diego Food Bank. During her time in law school, Joan volunteered with the San Diego Volunteer Lawyers Program Guardianship Clinic to assist those caring for children. Ms. Rettinger uses her compassion and empathy to advocate for her clients, truly understanding their needs and goals.
