Born in Britain, Thomas began his legal journey at the University of San Diego School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1999. Before making the shift to family law full-time, Thomas initially worked as a prosecutor. However, he spent the bulk of his career as a criminal defense attorney, working thousands of cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies. This gives him a rare and valuable perspective on the legal system that he puts to excellent use for his clients.

“Family law appeals to me because I believe the court system often impacts people unfairly and denies them the opportunity to present their side of the story,” Thomas says. “The opportunity to help and counsel people when they are in what is—all too often—an unfair fight is something that is rewarding and gratifying to me both personally and professionally.”

During his undergraduate days at Barry University in Miami, Thomas majored in English Literature, and often spends his free time buried in books. He also has an artistic streak, playing piano, composing music, and dabbling in screenwriting. And if there’s a Chelsea Football Club match on, you’ll be hard pressed to find him anywhere else.
